В шаблонизаторе Handlebars не работает встроенный helper "log"

У меня есть проект на webpack с Handlebars. Я хочу использовать helper {{log "test"}}, но он не работает. С gulp тот же код работает и выдает результат в консоль. Так же не работает console.log и кастомном helper'e. Я не понимаю, в чем дело. Остальные helper'ы работают нормально. Проблема только в helper'e {{log}}. Может webpack настроен неправильно?
